Dr. Hillary Maina Wachinga is the Group Managing Director of Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited. He is a multiskilled strategic thinker with over 18 years of proven work experience in risk management, compliance and auditing – 16 of which have been at management level.
Dr. Wachinga holds a doctorate in Business Administration (Strategic Information Systems), Masters in Business Administration (Information Systems) and undergraduate BSC degree in Computer Science – all from University of Nairobi.
He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Enterprise Risk Manager (CERM) and Certified Compliance Analyst (CCA). In addition, he has certificates in insurance proficiency (COP) from College of Insurance, project management from Strathmore University and corporate governance from Centre of Corporate Governance.

Eunice is a distinguished business professional with extensive experience as a board director and chair for both private and publicly listed companies, as well as a former commercial banker.
With over 25 years of experience in commercial financial services, leadership, and executive coaching, Eunice has held significant senior roles in the corporate sector, including positions at Absa Bank Kenya PLC, Barclays Bank Head Office in London, and Barclaycard International.
Her areas of expertise encompass corporate financial services, SME business advisory, professional development in soft skills, governance, and the execution of commercial strategies.
As the Founder and CEO of Etiquette Xllent Company Ltd, Eunice leads a professional training and coaching firm that specializes in soft skills development for corporate organizations, foreign services, diplomats, and government ministries. Her mission is to empower individuals and organizations to distinguish themselves in a competitive marketplace.
Eunice also serves as an Executive Coach at Strathmore University Business School. Previously, she was a Business Advisor for the Goldman Sachs 10K Women program at the United States International University (USIU) Africa, providing business coaching and advisory services to entrepreneurs.
Her strong governance and leadership credentials are reflected in her current roles as a Non-Executive Director at Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB Bank) Kenya Ltd and KCB Investment Bank, as well as Independent Director at Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Ltd Plc and Kenya Re Zambia. Additionally, she is the Chairperson of the Kenya Association of Women Business Owners, which supports women led SMEs, and serves as Vice Chairperson of the Women Corporate Directors, Kenya board, the largest global network of women board directors. Eunice is also a Board Member of One-Girl-Can, an NGO dedicated to supporting bright girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, and a Vital Voices Leadership Fellow. Until recently, she held Independent and Non-Executive Director positions at CIMERWA Plc in Rwanda and The Foschini Group (TFG) Plc in South Africa.
Eunice holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Marketing from the University of Glamorgan, Wales, UK, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in the UK, a Diploma in Executive Coaching from the AoEC in the UK, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB). She is certified Clarity4D Personality Assessment practitioner and certified Lumina Spark Behavioral Assessment Practioner. .
In addition, she holds a number of professional development qualifications that include Women Directors Leadership, Cranefield University UK & Strathmore University Business School, Nairobi, Kenya; Women Entrepreneurial Leadership Program, Babson College, Boston, USA; Economic Empowerment of Women, MCTC, Mashav Israel, Public Policy & Advocacy, Danida among others.
As a highly sought-after speaker and coach, both locally and internationally, Eunice leverages her expertise in leadership coaching, corporate governance, and professional soft skills to create a significant impact on individuals and organizations alike.
Eng. Collins Mbulo serves as the Director General of the ZICTA. He is a distinguished engineering professional and leader with over 19 years of experience in ICT regulation, telecommunications, and digital transformation. He has led multidisciplinary teams at national and international levels and served in key leadership roles within the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), including as Vice Chair of Study Group 12 of the International Telecommunication Union at both global and Africa regional group level on Quality of Service and Standardisation. He combines strategic insight with practical expertise to advance inclusive, sustainable and digitally empowered societies.
He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Information Technology and Telecommunications from the Open University of Tanzania and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications from the University of Zambia. He is a Fellow of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD).
Under his leadership, ZICTA is advancing Zambia’s digital transformation agenda through strategic ICT infrastructure development, spectrum reform, and strengthened regulatory frameworks that foster a connected and inclusive digital economy.
Chief Executive Officer, Bestlife Insurance Limited
Christabel Michel is a seasoned Business executive with over 25 years of experience in Insurance, Finance and Audit profession. She is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Insurer. She is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Zambia, the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, and a fellow of the Institute of Directors and a Certified Corporate Governance Trainer.
She has held several high profile executive and non executive roles in the Public and Private sector, locally and internationally, including Managing Director of ZSIC Life Plc, Board Chairperson of Zep Re a Comesa entity, Board Chairperson of National Road Fund Agency, Board member of Kenya Reinsurance Zambia and many others. Christabel was instrumental in establishing the Secretariat of the Insurers Association of Zambia and served as its first Executive Director, later becoming its President.
She is currently the CEO of Bestlife Insurance Limited and Board Chairperson of NAPSA Hospitality Investments Limited.
Humphrey Mulenga is currently Managing Partner for Deloitte Zambia, with oversight responsibility for the Zambian Firm. He is also a member of the Deloitte Africa Board.
In addition, as part of Deloitte East Africa, Humphrey oversees financial advisory assignments in Zambia and selected surrounding countries.
He has over 28 years of experience with Deloitte, of which, 8 years were with our Corporate Finance Practice of Deloitte LLP in the United Kingdom.
Humphrey has extensive international exposure gained through providing professional services to clients in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas, spanning a broad range of industry sectors.
Mwangala Mwiya is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Hobbiton Technologies, a fast-growing Zambian technology company building innovative digital products for Africa’s financial and insurance sectors. Under his leadership, Hobbiton has launched and powered groundbreaking platforms including Inshuwa, a Pan-African InsurTech platform; Gari, a motor insurance platform; Lipila, a seamless digital payment solution; Patumba, a savings and investment platform and Lipila.Later - Zambia’s first Buy Now, Pay Later platform.
He is known for his visionary approach to accessible and inclusive technology, driving products that simplify financial services while delivering real impact for consumers, agents, and enterprises. Mwangala has positioned Hobbiton Technologies as a trusted technology partner to major insurers, mobile money operators, and financial institutions across Zambia and the region.

Executive Director – Insurers Association of Zambia (IAZ)
Dr Nkaka Mwashika is the Executive Director of the Insurers Association of Zambia. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration in Finance and Private Equity Investment and a Post-Doctoral Certificate in Artificial Intelligence: Business Strategies and Applications from Binary University, Malaysia, as well as an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, UK.
With over two decades of senior leadership experience in pensions, insurance, and financial services, Dr Mwashika has served in key roles including Pension Finance Manager at the Bank of Zambia, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Head of Finance and Investment in leading pension trust funds and insurance companies. His expertise spans finance, investments, risk advisory, treasury operations, and InsurTech.

Data Commissioner, Data Protection Commission of Zambia
Likando Luywa is an accomplished ICT professional with over 20 years of experience in the insurance and financial services sector. In June 2023, he became the First Data Commissioner of Zambia, where he oversees the enforcement of data protection regulations and promotes data privacy and security.
Likando has extensive experience in managing ICT projects at both strategic and operational levels. He has a deep understanding of the Pensions and Insurance sector, having worked within the sector for over 20 years.
He has led significant ICT projects in the financial services industry, enhancing technological capabilities and operational efficiency, as well as developed strategic ICT frameworks that improved data security and operational efficiencies.
Likando's leadership at the Data Protection Commission of Zambia is crucial in advancing the country's data privacy standards, data regulations and enhancing the national data value.
Born and raised in Zambia, Lowani Chibesakunda’s enriching Citi career begun 25 years ago. Currently, Citi Zambia CEO for past 5 years. She has held various leadership positions within Citi Zambia in Corporate Banking and Operations. Her previous role for 3 years had been Corporate Bank Head for Citi Zambia. She has also had the privilege of working in other Citi presence counties such as South Africa, China and the United Kingdom
Lowani, prides herself in being a strong advocate of leading by coaching, mentoring and in having strong customer relationship skills. Her focus on customer relationship emanated from covering Multinational, Public Sector, Non-Profit and Top Tier Local Corporates.
Lowani holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, degree in Financial Services from the University of the West of England Bristol, Certificate in Banking from the Chartered Institute of Bankers –UK, diverse Certificates from Wharton School University of Pennsylvania, MIT Sloan School of Management, Berkely University, and Yale School of Management.
Lowani is enthusiastic about positive impact to the business community and education hence is currently the Chairperson of the Bankers Association of Zambia and board member of Baobab College & Scared Heart of Jesus School. She is also a past President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia.
In her spare time, Lowani is an ardent gardener and values family time.
Mukuma Musenge is the Managing Director of Kuala Tech Limited, a provider of innovative insurance technology solutions and part of the Klapton companies. He has extensive experience in ICT and digital transformation, with a focus on designing and delivering scalable digital systems that strengthen operational efficiency and customer experience across the insurance sector.
At Kuala Tech, Mukuma oversees the development of policy administration systems and complementary digital tools that support insurers in improving service delivery. The company has also expanded its portfolio through Whitebook, a platform that provides market-driven valuations for second-hand vehicles. The solution enhances transparency and accuracy in vehicle pricing for both insurers and the general public.
Mukuma holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Engineering, a Master’s degree in Project Management, and an Award in General Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
Over the course of his career, Mukuma has worked with organizations spanning primary insurance, reinsurance, and insurance brokerage, as well as within the broader ICT and infrastructure ecosystem, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the sector’s technology needs and operational realities.
His work reflects a commitment to aligning technology with business goals to drive sustainable innovation within the insurance ecosystem, contributing to the ongoing modernization of insurance practices in Zambia and the wider region.
Musa Wesutsa is a visionary leader in information security, artificial intelligence, data protection and compliance, with deep expertise in navigating Africa’s evolving tech landscape. As the Group CEO and co-founder of Sentinel Africa Consulting and Sentinel Africa Training Institute, Musa combines technical knowledge with real-world implementation expertise, guiding organizations through ISO certifications and building robust security frameworks.
With over 15 years of experience and a strong portfolio of credentials, including the Stanford Seed Transformation Program, ISO/IEC 27001 Master, and ISO 42001 Lead Implementer, Musa brings a rare blend of technical depth and strategic foresight, enabling executives to bridge the gap between automation, innovation, compliance and profitability. His recent work focuses on embedding Artificial Intelligence (AI) into business operations through practical governance frameworks that ensure both value creation and ethical alignment.

Mark Libakeni is the Country Managing Partner at EY Zambia. A Chartered Accountant and Fellow of ACCA (UK), he brings over 30 years of experience in audit, financial investigations, corporate governance, and business transformation. Prior to this role, he served as an Assurance Partner at EY since 2017.
Mark holds advanced degrees in Development Finance, Accountancy, and Law, and has previously served on the ZICA Council, contributing to Zambia’s accounting standards. Known for his board-level leadership and strategic advisory work, he is a respected voice in national policy dialogue, linking macroeconomic trends to financial strategy and operational execution.
Andrew Chuma is the Airtel Money Managing Director.
Mr. Nawa J.T. Samatebele serves as Director – Digital Infrastructure and Resilience at the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA). He is widely recognized as one of Zambia’s leading champions of cybersecurity, digital trust and national cyber resilience.
With over a decade of experience in ICT regulation, cybersecurity governance and digital transformation, Mr. Samatebele has led initiatives that have positioned Zambia as a regional leader in secure digital ecosystems. He spearheaded the National Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Project, transforming it from concept to implementation and establishing the foundation for secure digital signatures, trusted e-transactions, and e-government interoperability.
He was instrumental in shaping the Cybersecurity and Cybercrimes Acts, ensuring that Zambia’s legal framework enhances resilience while empowering local cybersecurity firms. His leadership also produced the SIM-Swap Alert and Real-Time Notification Platform, integrating banks and mobile operators to combat SIM-swap fraud, an innovation now celebrated across the financial sector.
A recognized digital forensics and malware analysis expert, Mr. Samatebele was pivotal in the Atlas Mara Bank cyber-heist, involving over ZMW 14 million, where his reverse-engineering skills exposed an international syndicate,a success commended by the National Prosecution Authority (NPA). In another high-profile case, he worked with the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) to investigate a $5 million bank intrusion, where his swift intervention halted further breaches and led to multiple arrests.
Mr. Samatebele holds a Double Degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from Edith Cowan University (Australia) and a Master’s Degree in Cyber Security (Distinction) from the University of Lancashire (UK & Cyprus).
Lillian T. Mutwalo is an award-winning Senior Executive and influential leader in Africa’s telecommunications, infrastructure, and banking sectors, recognized for her strategic vision and transformative impact. Violet Kapekele is an Insurance Professional with over 28 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. She currently serves as the Inclusive Insurance Manager at Hollard Insurance Zambia, where she leads nationwide efforts to expand innovative and accessible insurance solutions.
A Microinsurance Master since 2019, Violet completed the acclaimed accelerator and leadership program in inclusive insurance at Pioneer Insurance in the Philippines. This training strengthened her capacity to design, implement, and scale inclusive insurance solutions for underserved communities.
Violet possesses extensive expertise in innovative and unconventional inclusive insurance models tailored for the Zambian market. For the past four years, she has headed the Inclusive Insurance Department at Hollard, where she has forged impactful partnerships with key organizations supporting financial inclusion and MSME-focused insurance initiatives.
Her work extends deeply into farmer engagement at the country level. Violet has led and facilitated multiple nationwide programs that bring insurance education, awareness, and tailored products directly to farming communities. She has collaborated with farmer cooperatives, agro-associations, government agencies, and development partners to ensure smallholder farmers across Zambia gain access to relevant and affordable risk-management tools. Her outreach includes field trainings, community mobilization, product sensitization, and working closely with stakeholders to integrate insurance into agricultural value chains.
Although based in Lusaka, Violet travels extensively across Zambia—crossing boundaries and reaching remote communities—to fulfill her mission: ensuring insurance reaches the unreached.

Jacobeth Barno is the Chief Executive Officer of APA Microinsurance, where she leads the organization’s transformation into Africa’s leading provider of innovative, affordable, and inclusive insurance solutions. With over 15 years of experience in microinsurance, climate finance, and financial inclusion, she has pioneered scalable models that protect smallholder farmers, SMEs, and vulnerable communities across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Her leadership has shaped national insurance strategies, mobilized millions in premium subsidies, developed a team of microinsurance experts, and driven digital innovation in climate risk protection, working both in the private sector and the development space, including the UN. At APA, she is leading the charge in building a client-centric, tech-enabled, data-driven, and partner-oriented solution—one that turns operational challenges into strategic opportunities.
Kelvin Chikomo serves as the Managing Director for cGrate International. Kelvin has been part of the cGrate journey since 2008, a journey that started with the humble selling of talktime. cGrate now serves as the biggest bill payments aggregator in Zambia.
Some key achievements from Kelvin being the rollout of the 543 Konse Konse brand in Zambia with a network of over 9000 agents processing bill payments, inter-operable agency banking for all banks and mobile money operations, card and mobile money payments. Besides the rollout of the 543 Konse Konse brand, Kelvin has spearheaded the mobile banking rollout for various financial institutions such as Stanbic Bank Zambia, Indo Zambia Bank (IZB), Bayport, MFinance and Zanaco's Xapit prior to joining cGrate.
Kelvin has been part of cGrate's many firsts such as the rollout of WhatsApp Banking in 2019, payment of tax using WhatsApp in 2020 and self-service payments solutions in 2025. Kelvin has a strong passion for African solutions by Africans, this serves as his North star in his personal purpose to improve the lives of fellow African people.

Chabala Lumbwe
Jonan Kisakye is the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Insurers’ Association (UIA), where he is driving the Association’s transformation into a dynamic, impact-driven organization. He has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, spanning both public and private sectors, with a strong focus on strategy, training, and institutional development.
He previously served as Deputy Principal of the Insurance Training College (ITC) and was instrumental in transitioning the Insurance Institute of Uganda into a public institution. Jonan has led several national and regional projects in insurance, microinsurance, bancassurance, and risk management, including work with regulators such as the Uganda Retirement Benefits Regulatory Authority (URBRA).
Jonan is the Chairman of the Africa Network of Insurers’ Associations (ANIA), he is the Secretary of the Insurance Consortium for Oil and Gas Uganda (ICOGU), Chairs the Technical Working Committee for the Uganda Agriculture Insurance Scheme (UAIS) under the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). He serves on several boards including Uganda Re, the Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE), the Uganda Chamber of Energy and Minerals (UCEM), and was recently appointed on the Board of the Organisation of Eastern and Southern Africa Insurers (OESAI).
He holds an MBA from Makerere University and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) UK, a Fellow of the ITC (Uganda) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (ACSI).
Maiwase is a seasoned risk and business management executive that has worked in the financial sector for the past 21 years with over 19 of those being in the Insurance Industry.
Maiwase started her career in insurance working as an insurance broker with Aon Limited in the UK and in her last role held the position of Head of Operations at Liberty Life Insurance Zambia.
She is a Law Degree holder, which she obtained from the University of Manchester and has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Cape Town. She also holds Post Graduate Diplomas in Management from Henley Business School and Teaching Methodology from the University of Zambia.
Maiwase is an Associate and a Chartered Insurer of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and has an Advanced Diploma in Insurance from the Institute. She is also a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Zambia and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK & Zambia).
Kachiza Kwenda is the CEO and Managing Director of Prudential Life Assurance Zambia, a leading financial services provider. He brings over 18 years of experience in the industry to his role, having held various senior positions within the organization.
A certified Chartered Accountant (FCCA) with an MBA from the University of Leicester, Kachiza is passionate about providing health and protection solutions to the Zambian people. He actively contributes to the insurance sector through his involvement on the boards of the Insurance Association of Zambia and the Zambian American Chamber of Commerce.
As CEO, Kachiza oversees all aspects of Prudential Life Assurance Zambia's operations, ensuring the company's sustainability, operational efficiency, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. His leadership was instrumental in guiding the organization to market leadership during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, while also prioritizing the needs of customers and the community.
