The moderators for the Summit are as detailed below.
Samuel (K) Ruugia is the Chief Information Officer at Kenya Re Group. He is a data engineer, AI researcher, technology expert, trainer and speaker with over 15 years of industry experience. He leads adoption of emerging technologies and AI to improve business processes efficiency and customer experience.
Samuel has also been an industry consultant working with regional bodies like COMESA rolling out regional integration technologies, designing and execution of initiatives like AI Hackathons and summits.
Samuel holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Nairobi and a BSC (Computer Science and Engineering) from Maseno University. He is a certified professional IBM Data Scientist, Microsoft IT Professional, Oracle certified associate and certified project manager.
He loves golfing, body building and fitness. He is also a philanthropist supporting local football teams and setting up of community computer labs to connect Kenyan rural villages and schools into the global network.

Born and raised in Zambia, Lowani Chibesakunda’s enriching Citi career begun 25 years ago. Currently, Citi Zambia CEO for past 5 years. She has held various leadership positions within Citi Zambia in Corporate Banking and Operations. Her previous role for 3 years had been Corporate Bank Head for Citi Zambia. She has also had the privilege of working in other Citi presence counties such as South Africa, China and the United Kingdom
Lowani, prides herself in being a strong advocate of leading by coaching, mentoring and in having strong customer relationship skills. Her focus on customer relationship emanated from covering Multinational, Public Sector, Non-Profit and Top Tier Local Corporates.
Lowani holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, degree in Financial Services from the University of the West of England Bristol, Certificate in Banking from the Chartered Institute of Bankers –UK, diverse Certificates from Wharton School University of Pennsylvania, MIT Sloan School of Management, Berkely University, and Yale School of Management.
Lowani is enthusiastic about positive impact to the business community and education hence is currently the Chairperson of the Bankers Association of Zambia and board member of Baobab College & Scared Heart of Jesus School. She is also a past President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia.
In her spare time, Lowani is an ardent gardener and values family time.
Insurance Industry Expert
Chabala Mumbi is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Madison Financial Services Plc, a leading financial services group with operations spanning insurance, microfinance, asset management, and regional markets. A Chartered Management Accountant and seasoned financial services executive, he brings over two decades of leadership experience driving strategy, governance, and transformation across some of the most influential institutions.
Prior to his current role, Chabala served as Managing Director across several specialist businesses including OneHealth Management Services, OneLife Assurance Zambia, and Metropolitan Life, Metropolitan Health Zambia, where he led large-scale restructures, market repositioning initiatives, and successful turnarounds. His earlier career includes senior roles in South Africa with Discovery Holdings and leadership positions in finance, strategy, and operations within Zambia’s insurance sectors with Professional Life, Focus Life and Focus Ironclad Group.
Chabala is widely recognised for his strategic clarity, steady leadership, and ability to navigate complex organisational and regulatory environments. His experience spans restructuring, business transformation, stakeholder engagement, business growth, healthcare development, and the execution of multi-year transformation programmes.
Sandi Chimpala is a trailblazer in Zambia’s digital and technology space, widely recognized for her leadership, innovation, and dedication to advancing the tech ecosystem in the country. She is the CEO of Techtrends Zambia, a leading tech media and marketing company that provides consistent, insightful coverage of ICT developments, and connects tech innovators, businesses, and consumers through powerful storytelling and strategic content. Under her leadership, Techtrends Zambia has become a respected voice in the industry, winning accolades such as Best Digital Economy Coverage at the ZICTA ICT, Postal and Courier Awards and recognition for Consistent Coverage of ICT at the ICTAZ Annual General Meeting.

Her events attract tech leaders, innovators, government officials, and corporate partners who are all committed to shaping a tech-enabled future.
Her outstanding contributions to the sector have earned her multiple honors, including the Digital Woman of the Year award at the Zambian Women of the Year Awards and Best Online Technology Writer at the Airtel Media Excellence Awards. She was also the recipient of the 2024 ICTAZ CEO’s Award, further solidifying her status as one of Zambia’s foremost digital champions.
